[[Sorry for the longness, guys.]]
Andromeda stood outside of the Great Hall, watching the students arrive. They gathered outside, and once she was sure that everyone was there, she pulled out her wand, pointing it at her throat. "Sonorus." she said so that her voice was loud and that all of the students could hear her. "Excuse me!" she said, getting everyone's attention. "All students may now go into the Great Hall, except for first years." she said and watched as the students filtered past her, leaving all of the short eleven-year-olds standing before her.
"Quietus." she said so that she could talk normally to the kids. "Welcome to your first year at Hogwarts. There are many surprises that await you here. There are ways you can earn points for your house, and there are ways you can lose points." she said, waiting for the low murmurs to stop. "I will explain after the Sorting Ceremony is over. Now, shall we begin? We will start with Grey Alexander." she said, watching a boy step up.
"You will go up to the stool and I will place the hat on your head. Then after you've been sorted, I will call out the next name and we will continue from there." Andromeda said, and opened the doors. The hall was revealed, showing the four house tables, the ceiling that at this point looked like a beautiful night sky, and the small three-legged stool with the sorting hat on top of it.
She walked up to the front and turned to see all of the first years standing in shock. When they finally got up to the front, she took out her parchment and read, "Alexander, Grey." and the boy stepped up to her, sitting on the stool. This went on for a while, and the three students whom she'd expected to see got into the houses she'd expected. Scorpius Malfoy got into Slytherin as expected, and Rose Weasley and Albus potter got into Gryffindor.
"Now that that is over, I'd like to welcome all of the new faces that we see here today, and welcome back the old. I'd also like to remind you all that the Forbidden Forest is exactly that: Forbidden. Also I'd like to encourage you all to make the right choices, as failing to do so will cost house points as we've learned in previous years." Andromeda said and glanced over to Roxy Weasley at the Gryffindor table. She'd been the biggest prankster the school's seen since her father and late uncle, Fred and George Weasley. Andromeda expected that she got a lot of ideas for her pranks from her father and his joke store.
Andromeda went on about Quidditch, classes, earning and losing house points, and her personal favorite, the House Cup. "At the end of the year, we have something called the house cup." and there was applause and cheering from each of the tables. She smiled. "It will go to the house that, by the end of the year, accumulates the most house points in their hourglass." Andromeda said, glancing over at the Slytherin table.
"Now, our previous winners," she said and the Slytherin table erupted in cheers and applause and whistles. She held up a hand to silence them, and they did. "Our previous winners," she started again, "will most likely be fighting hard to keep the title. That means that they will be trying to do anything to win house points. That means that they will not be pranking anybody." Andromeda said, glancing over at Roxy Weasley again, smirking. "Do anything to win house points, and avoid losing them at all costs. That is all I have to say, now," she said and clapped, "let the feast begin!"
